It all started during the last day of a Revlon BOGOF sale two weeks ago. I hadn’t hauled in a long time and my entire body itched to expand my makeup stash. Other than buying some staples (Colorstay foundation), I also decided to venture into the Revlon Renewist lipsticks. According to their website, this lipstick claims to “boost moisture by 80 % while reducing fine lines and gently enhancing lip fullness over time.” I do notice that my lips feel a little fuller, but it is nothing significant or amazing. As far as the fine lines go, I don’t notice a difference at all. So if you are interested in this lippie because of the fullness and vanishing fine lines claims, you might want to look elsewhere.
Now, if you, like me, suffer from dry lips in the winter, and absolutely love the full pigment that lipstick offers, then this lipstick line is for you. During the cold season, my lips yearn for moisture but the lipsticks I usually wear (both high end and low end) just do not offer the amount of attention my lips need. Ultimately, after wearing lipstick all day, my lips start to flake, peel, and crack. I thought I would have to give up lipsticks in the winter and just settle for lip gloss. Thankfully, Revlon has come to save the day.
I am now obsessed with the Revlon Renewist lippies. It is all I have worn for the past two weeks, and in fact, I went back to the drugstore to buy more shades. The Renewist formula, which has a “pro-collagen moisture core” leaves my lips feeling soft, smooth, and flexible. It doesn’t hurt to smile, eat, laugh, or talk. The formula’s texture is creamy, smooth, and satiny. The lipsticks’ pigment is excellent and full-bodied. In addition, what I see in the tube is what I get as far as colors go.
The life span of the lipstick on my lips is quite impressive, as well. I apply in the morning before rushing out the door, I drink my tea, eat my bagel with cream cheese, and stuff my face with grapes, and the lips are still pretty much intact. Sure, some of the creamy luster wears off, but my lips are still painted. Overall, the lipstick lasts approximately 3 to 4 hours. Also, the color fades evenly, and it leaves a pretty stain on my lips.
I usually hate reapplying lipsticks because I know that my lips will suffer; however, reapplying Renewist is like reapplying a luxurious, highly pigmented lip balm.
