Milk of Magnesia
I just buy off-brand Milk of Magnesia with no flavoring. I usually put it on with a flocked makeup sponge or something similar. I use it as both a mask and as a primer. If you try it as a primer it may leave white streaks, but you can smooth those out with a damp sponge, or if you are using liquid foundation anyway, that may help smooth and cover without needing to sponge it! I really love it, but some members have reported that it made them itchy or even break out, so you may want to try a small patch test before you slather it all over your face! :) I often wear it at night to keep zits at bay. It is pretty drying and will feel a bit masklike, but as soon as you wash it off and moisturize your skin will feel great!
Glycerin
There have been a lot of questions about glycerin lately, and while I'm no expert by ANY stretch of the imagination, this is what works for me!
You can buy glycerin at Walgreen's or CVS. I found mine at CVS in a generic looking brown opaque plastic bottle for $3.
I mix my glycerin in a 1 part glycerin, 3 parts water ratio. Others do 1 part glycerin to 10 parts water. Glycerin IS sticky, so if that bothers you, use the 1:10 ratio!
I put my mixture in a perfume atomizer from Dollar Tree, that way I can get a quick, even mist any time of the day with no mess.
If you use powder or MMU foundation, try a spray of this over your foundation for a very natural finish! It make flaky patches and powdery finishes disappear!
HTH someone! :)
Also, please read this thread about glycerin and fluidliners! This MUAers eyes burned after using fluidlines mixed w/glycerin!

Monistat Anti Chafing Gel
It may sound funny, but Monistat Anti-Chafing Gel is an inexpensive replacement for silicone-based primers like Smashbox's! Just apply before your foundation for a smoother finish! Some people find that this primer controls their oil, while others find it makes them oilier. Your mileage may vary!
Toilet Seat Covers=Face Blotters!
Many MUAers swear by toilet seat covers as face oil blotters! Some sneak several whole sheets to cut into more useable sizes, while others remove the center oval from the one they are using, *ahem* for its "intended purpose"! If you are the inventive lady who discovered this, please PM me so I can give credit where credit is due!
